There were already a lot of changes at the traditional Kathmann Stallion Station in 2009: Whilst the new horse walker was put into operation at the end of the year, the building work on the new 20 x 60 m indoor school got underway at the beginning of 2010 too. We also have a new addition to our team of professional riders: The Australian rider, Tanya Seymour, who was successful up to St. Georges level in her native country, rode under Ulla Salzgeber and Wolfram Wittig in Germany before joining us on the recommendation of the World Cup finalist, Catherine Haddad. With our horses she already achieved wins in Riding Horse-classes up to Dressage Horse class L. Julia Wentscher, girlfriend of Lutz Kathmann, is responsible for the marketing activities of the sales yard. Due to her career as a journalist for horsesport she could build up good contacts - national and international.

Moreover, we can offer you some highly interesting new additions for the 2010 stud season. As well as the internationally successful jumping star, Lord Z and the Olympic stallion, Clinton, these also include the second reserve of the stallion licensing in Oldenburg: Hot Spot by Hotline. Not to forget the Tuschinsky son, Touch Me, with his fantastic paces, who was graded at the after licensing venue in Oldenburg, Holstein’s reserve winner, Catch It Ask, by Casall and the jumping stallions, Ci Ci Cenjor Ask by Cassini and the Diamant de Semilly son, Favorit Ask. The black stallion we presented at the Oldenburg stallion licensing, London Lightning by Londonderry, has moved into a new stable at the Holtrup Stud. His new stable mate has rare genes: The thoroughbred Arabian, Is Orlow ox, who achieved the top dressage index at the stallion performance test beating his fellow warmbloods, is approved for both Oldenburg and Hanover. Next to him is the Johnson son, Bon’ a Parte, who came fourth overall at his stallion performance test in Adelheidsdorf, achieving the coveted score of 10 for his spectacular trot. After already recording victories in young horse competitions, Fürstenglanz also achieved a good result in his 30-day test, receiving a score of 9.0 for rideability. The insemination procedure still lies in the experienced and well-proven hands of the insemination technician, Beate Broscheit. Wiebke Jäger, who has a master in equine studies, is responsible for preparing the young stallions for the stallion licensing.

The success stories of the stallions implemented by us achieved particular highlights in 2009: The Romanov son, Honnerups Driver, convincingly won the World Champion Title of the 5-year-old Dressage Horses. Furthermore, Romanov produced four brilliant end ring mares including Oldenburg’s Reserve Mare Championesse and the National Championship finalist, Royal Spirit, who fetching a sales price of 140,000 Euro, was one of the most expensive Verden auction horses. Offspring by Don Romantic also qualified for the World Championship Finals. At the stallion licensing in Redefin, Don Romantic produced the reserve winner, Dancing Hit and after the NRW stallion licensing his son, Don Martino, changed hands to become a state-owned stallion in Warendorf. Florencio produced a premium stallion in Redefin, a graded son at the main licensing venue in Hanover as well as the second reserve with an amazing trot at the 2010 KWPN stallion licensing, where Johnson also came up trumps with an extremely talented premium stallion. He had already caused a stir with the VSN trophy winner, Bretton Woods, who was awarded the score of 10.0 for his rideability. Lord Z produced the most expensive jumping stallion in Verden, who was sold for 200,000 Euros and Sorento was also able to present his first graded son and the danish-license winner 2010 as well as auction horses that fetched good prices.
